The mission of SEFCU’s Institute for Financial Well-Being is to guide and encourage individuals to focus on achieving economic stability-using innovative tools, making informed decisions, and encouraging positive habits. This mission was created in the lens of the larger SEFCU mission: member owned, volunteer governed, community focused and employee (em)powered creating value, measuring success in lives improved.

The Institute for Financial Well-Being embodies and extends the value of people helping people with the creation and delivery of quality educational opportunities for everyone. The Institute educational content aligns with applicable New York State, common core, and national financial literacy learning standards for adults and youth. Materials and resources are rooted in evidence-based research and are designed to support individuals as they pursue their unique financial goals. The result is practical learning, paired with guidance and tangible tools that can be put into action by anyone!

The Institute facilitates a rotating schedule of FREE, live, interactive learning events that cover practical knowledge and skills on a range of financial topics. Webinars are available in both 45- and 90- minute increments at various times of day to support a variety of scheduling needs. Individuals can access the public schedule of webinars and sign up for sessions online at https://www.sefcu.com/financial-education.

Along with individual services, organizations and groups can schedule private sessions by emailing [email protected] to incorporate financial education as an employee benefit, an offering to clients, or an opportunity for group connection over financial topics.

SEFCU is a not-for-profit organization designated as a 501(c)(1).
